Mr Christos Thanasas was born in Athens in 1971. He studied Medicine at the Medical School of “Kapodistrian University” and graduated in 1997 with excellent grade.
He got trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at “Korgialeneio Hospital”, “401 General Military Hospital” and “A.Kyriakou Childrens Hospital” of Athens. After that, he was awarded Scholarship by the Greek Orthopaedic Association and continued his training in the U.K at “Leeds General Infirmary, Academic Dpt Orthopaedic Surgery and Trauma” for a year (2007).
He possesses Master in Sports Injuries from the “Dimokrition University of Thrace” since 2012. He succeeded to register as a member of the European Orthopaedic Association “EBOT” after examinations in 2011 (Fellow of the European Boards Orthopaedics and Trauma) .
He got training in Robotic Surgery of Knee and Hip in the U.S.A (Florida Anatomical Research Center) in 2014. He had post- training in Knee and Hip “Minimally Invasive Replacement” at the Hospitals-Centers of Excelence RENIER, DELFT and ORBIS,SITTARD in Netherlands in 2013. He is registered in the British Medical General Council and works occasionally as Locum Consultant in the U.K.
He has published his research work in the world’s best scientific journals of his field (American Journal Sports Medicine, JBJS, JSES, Injury and more). His scientific work is ongoing and he is active with research , congresses and lectures in his area of expertise.
His main interest is Knee and Shoulder diseases. He mainly performs Knee, Hip and Shoulder Arthroscopic Surgery and Replacements. He applies the most up-to –date surgical techniques and protocols of postoperative rehabilitation. At the same time he is a pioneer in the field of Stem Cells and PRP treatments for the tendon and the joint diseases.
Additionally to his private practice he works at “Henry Dunant Medical Center” since 2008 as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
